City Government

A Mayor and five-person City Council are the elected officials that represent Columbus Junction residents and

oversee City business. Dan Wilson serves as Mayor, city council members are Mark Huston, Phil Kaalberg, Hal Prior, Jason Payne and Andy Wink. The city council meets the second and fourth Wednesdays at 5:30 at the Civic Center. If a meeting date falls on a holiday the date might be changed. Council members and the Mayor can be reached through the City Clerk’s office or by using the contact form on this site.

The City Clerk’s office and Police Department are located at the Civic Center and are open weekdays from 8:00 to 4:30. Public Works and Community Development Center can be contacted through the City Clerk’s office. The second floor of the Civic Center houses the Columbus Junction Public Library which is governed by a board of trustees.
