High Water Update

The projections for the Iowa River levels are holding steady at 26.6 feet which should be easy to handle; the crest is expected on Wednesday . For reference, the river was at 27 feet at the beginning of May, it has to be over 28 feet to impact Highway 92 and in 2008 it was over 32 feet.  The City feels prepared to manage a level of 30 feet for a short time and we hope that won’t be necessary.

Monkey Run Creek is out of its banks again and Locust Street is closed west of the Legion.
